New hydraulic cylinder for the Spieringbrug in Muiden

In collaboration with Griekspoor and Vydraulics, Griekspoor Thermal Coatings supplied a brand-new hydraulic cylinder for the Spieringbrug in Muiden, on behalf of the Municipality of Gooise Meren. This project highlights our expertise in high-performance coatings for critical infrastructure components.

The Spieringbrug is an unbalanced bascule bridge with angled cylinders, exposed to heavy use and harsh environmental conditions such as sand, traffic, and moisture. The existing cylinders needed a replacement that could withstand these extreme conditions while being ready for immediate deployment if needed.

We delivered the TOPCOAT for the fully redesigned hydraulic cylinder that is one-to-one interchangeable with the existing bridge components, allowing it to serve as a direct emergency backup. The cylinder rod is protected with our TOPCOAT 107+ coating, a combination of hard carbides and flexible superalloys that ensures maximum wear resistance and corrosion protection. With this solution, the Spieringbrug is now equipped for reliable operation and long-lasting protection, ready to perform for many years to come.
