Griekspoor Thermal Coating bv is an international company. We specialize in the application and finishing of coatings for the maritime and hydraulic industries, particularly piston rods. It all started in Nieuw Vennep (NL) as a local civil engineering company called Gebr. Griekspoor bv, founded by Joop & Aart Griekspoor.

Vision

Our vision is that every single customer must be given “best-value-for-money”. We do not want to limit this merely to the product, we also aim to offer a “best-value-for-money” guarantee with our customer relationship. We do this by assisting and supporting our customers where necessary, for instance with the help of our in house laboratory.

Like every other company Griekspoor Thermal Coatings depends on its suppliers. This is why we do all that we can to maintain an excellent relationship with our suppliers, and together we continuously endeavour to achieve a mutual “best-value-for-money”.

Quality is our family business

Coatings
divided in two groups

Group 1 consists of the “hard” coatings. These coatings are applied thermally. This means that an energy source is always used (in the form of plasma, HVOF or laser) to create the coating. These hard, highly wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant coatings can be finish-ground in order to achieve the specified fit and/or coarseness. We are capable of applying the coatings up to a length of 23 metres, 1 metre diameter and a weight of 20 tonnes.

Group 2 consists of the “soft” coatings. These are epoxy or polyurethane spray paint coatings, in all imaginable colours. In addition to their protective function, these coatings also have an obvious aesthetic purpose. Within the group of soft coatings, we integrate a hard thermal metal sprayed primer coating, which, in combination with the soft top coating, creates unique corrosion-resistant properties.

1968

Founding

The brothers Joop and Aart Griekspoor founded Gebr. Griekspoor bv. The company mainly operates in civil engineering.

1986

First equipment

Gebr. Griekspoor bv buys first flame spray equipment.

1995

Expansion

Gebr. Griekspoor bv purchases all five thermal coating technologies and sets up a new department: Thermal Coatings.

1996

New management

Joop Griekspoor transfers all the shares to his two sons Ron and Frank.

1998

ISO 9001 awarded

The Thermal Coatings Department has received ISO 9001 certification.

2007

New shareholder

Mario van Helmond acquires a 33,3% co-ownership of the Thermal Coatings department. The department becomes an independent business entity: Griekspoor Thermal Coatings.
