TOPCOAT ULTRA+
Ultra-dense ceramic coating with unbeatable wear, chemical and corrosion resistance.
TOPCOAT ULTRA+ is the upgraded version of our TOPCOAT ULTRA ceramic coating. The key improvement lies in the bond layer: the standard plasma-sprayed nickel–chrome adhesive layer is replaced with our HVOF-applied TOPCOAT 177 nickel-based superalloy. This results in a coating system with significantly improved corrosion resistance and enhanced reliability in extreme operating conditions.
The ceramic top layer remains identical to TOPCOAT ULTRA, offering excellent wear resistance, high density, and strong chemical stability. This makes TOPCOAT ULTRA+ especially suitable for maritime, offshore, petrochemical and other environments where aggressive chemical exposure and mechanical stress are combined.
Further improve chemical and corrosion resistance
This coating is designed to withstand maritime environments where very good chemicals and wear resistance are required. In very severe environments, increasing the intermediate thickness to approximately 200μm can further enhance corrosion resistance.
Recommended roughness: Ra 0,2 – 0,4μm
TOPCOAT ULTRA+ can be finished to extremely smooth roughness values (Ra < 0,15μm). For optimal sealing, low friction and long service life, we advise an Ra value of 0,2 – 0,4μmin combination with a Stepseal construction.

Plasma spraying is particularly suitable for materials with a high melting point such as ceramic materials.
HVOF Spraying
The coatings sprayed with HVOF are characterized by a low porosity and a high bonding strength.
