TOPCOAT+
Enhanced ceramic coating with superior corrosion and chemical resistance.
TOPCOAT+ is an upgraded version of our standard TOPCOAT ceramic coating. The ceramic top layer remains identical to standard TOPCOAT (>200μm), offering proven wear resistance and stable performance. The key difference lies in the bond layer: instead of a plasma-sprayed nickel-chrome adhesive layer, TOPCOAT+ uses our HVOF-applied nickel-based superalloy TOPCOAT 177 with a minimum thickness of100μm. This improvement delivers stronger corrosion resistance, better chemical resistance, and higher operational reliability in demanding environments.
TOPCOAT+ is especially suitable for maritime, offshore, and chemically aggressive conditions where the standard TOPCOAT may not provide sufficient long-term protection.
Further improve corrosion resistance
This coating is designed to withstand maritime environments where very good wear resistance is required. For environments of extreme severity, increasing the intermediate thickness to approximately 200μm can further increase corrosion resistance.
Recommended roughness: Ra 0,2 – 0,4μm
TOPCOAT+ can be finished to extremely smooth roughness values (Ra < 0,15μm), although we recommend Ra 0,2 –0,4μm in combination with a Stepseal construction for optimal sealing performance and maximumservice life.
Typical applications for TOPCOAT+
- Replacement or recoating of Ceramax
- Hydraulic rods and plungers
- Automotive components
- Wear resistant sealing surfaces
- Wear resistant sleeve bearings
- Dielectric applications
TOPCOAT+
is applied by
Plasma Spraying
Plasma spraying is particularly suitable for materials with a high melting point such as ceramic materials.
HVOF Spraying
The coatings sprayed with HVOF are characterized by a low porosity and a high bonding strength.
